A comic collection of dinosaur poems for middle grade children and their parents?
All the usual dinos on the block are here: T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Apatosaurus (with the right head!), and the rest; most are newer discoveries. Some are huge; some are tiny; some are smooth; some are spiny. Some slither; some dither. All like to show a little attitude in poems that run the gamut from free verse nonsense to dramatic monologues. NONE are straight rhyming nonsense: an environmental - sixth extinction theme of what the real monster - man - is doing to the Anthropocene runs through rollicking free verse poems that use ample external and internal rhyme, half rhyme and sound f/x. Two songs, a concrete poem, jazzy colloquial vernacular, time and POV shifts. Time/space portals; wacky stories and fearsome critter yarns... .
