Pirate Spring
A Novel of Haiti

Gary Beck

Fiction / Literature

A bright, young Haitian, ardent for education, goes to college in the United States and forms the values that will help him serve his troubled country. He returns after the death of his father in the great earthquake of 2010 and commits himself to helping his suffering village. He persuades the elders to allow him, and a select few, to commit piracy on the rich, like the Somalis, to feed the village.

After adventures and success on the high seas, their growing wealth is noticed and a gang threatens the village. The government won't help so he leads a fight for freedom and safety. In the fight the bright, brave young woman who became his wife is killed. Mourning her loss, he dedicates himself to improving the lives of his fellow villagers and the people of his poverty stricken land.
